Education & Training

Jessica’s interest in the health field started decades ago and led to Jessica receiving her certification as a Wilderness Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) at SOLO Wilderness Medical School in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.
She went on to study the ecological determinants of health in society at McGill University where during her final year she completed a rural health research program in Panama under the guidance of McGill University and Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute.
Jessica worked as a research assistant at the Centre for Studies in Primary Care at Queen’s University before moving the U.K. for graduate school. She received her MSc in Reproductive and Sexual Health Research from the London School of Hygiene of Tropical Medicine, University of London in 2007.
It was through Jessica’s experience working and conducting research in the field of public health, specifically at the intersection of HIV/AIDS and gender-based violence (GBV) in rural South Africa that she became aware of the potential of yoga as a therapeutic modality for physical and mental health conditions.
