WHY CHOOSE OUR CHIROPRACTOR ETOBICOKE?
Propel Physiotherapy is one of the leading assessment and rehabilitation centres for people recovering from neurological, complex orthopaedic, and sports-related injuries in Canada.
Our services are tailored to provide quality care for people with catastrophic neurological injuries, as well as complex orthopedic injuries. Injuries of this nature are commonly a result of motor vehicle collisions, workplace accidents, and high velocity/ high impact mechanisms of injury, which require a different approach than common sports or work-related injuries.
We have set ourselves apart by the quality of care our clinicians provide and the unique setting we provide to meet the individual needs of these clients. Our comprehensive client-centered approach allows each clinician to spend valuable and meaningful time with each client.
Dr. Thomas Lalonde has nearly a decade of experience in the fitness and rehabilitation industries. He has an extensive background in treating neurological & sport injuries.
After a full assessment, he will develop a customized treatment program to help you function better and meet your specific goals.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT AT YOUR FIRST CHIROPRACTIC APPOINTMENT?
At your first appointment, your chiropractor will perform a comprehensive assessment. They will speak to you about what physical issues you are experiencing. You will be asked to move to determine what is limiting your body from functioning optimally. Your range of motion, strength, and functional ability will be tested. The outcome measures are used to determine a plan of treatment to improve your health. Your chiropractor can use manual therapy, exercises, and modalities like acupuncture, shockwave therapy, and education as parts of their treatment.
HOW MANY CHIROPRACTIC SESSIONS WILL I NEED?
The number of sessions you will need depends on your diagnosis, the severity or chronicity of your injury, your past medical history, and a variety of other factors.
DO I NEED A DOCTOR’S NOTE FOR A CHIROPRACTOR?
Chiropractors are regulated health professionals and therefore you do not need a doctor’s note or referral to see one. We do encourage open communication with your doctor(s) and you can let us know at your first visit if you would like them to be included in your correspondence.
DOES INSURANCE COVER CHIROPRACTIC CARE?
Your chiropractic visits may be covered under an employment plan that you or a spouse has. You will be encouraged to check the details of that plan and submit your receipts for reimbursement.
There is no OHIP (government-funded) coverage for chiropractic services. Propel Physiotherapy is not an OHIP-licensed facility.
We provide treatment for all Motor Vehicle Accident and WSIB cases.
CAN I RECEIVE CHIROPRACTIC CARE IN MY HOME?
No, our chiropractor only sees clients at our Etobicoke location.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CHIRO AND PHYSIO?
One of the most frequently asked questions by all of our clients is how physiotherapy differs from chiropractic care and massage therapy; and it is a good one. Receiving treatment in a multi-disciplinary health clinic, like Propel Physiotherapy, our clients may definitely see some areas of overlap and some areas of exclusivity within these professions.
