Online Physiotherapy Assessments
A virtual physiotherapy assessment is very similar to an assessment in-person. The registered physiotherapist will take a history of your issues, conduct an objective physical assessment, and make notes while this is being conducted.
Depending on your issue, your physiotherapist may ask you to fill out questionnaires, or if appropriate, show them your functional abilities so they can analyze your movement. Sometimes, a few camera set ups and approaches are required but your physiotherapist can guide you through that!
Next, your physiotherapist will observe your movements and determine the appropriate outcome measures to use. Outcome measures can help to track your goals and ensure you are on the right track to recovery. Your physiotherapist will provide guidance for treatment frequency and intensity to ensure you are receiving the highest quality of care.
Touch points throughout your physiotherapy journey will ensure the interventions being applied (e.g., exercises, physiotherapy guidelines, stretching routines, mindfulness etc..) are being followed through appropriately.
Customized Home Exercise Programming
Our clinicians are able to provide and create customized, home-based exercise plans to address your physiotherapy goals. Understanding stages of healing and injury timelines, being at the forefront of exercise equipment, and having the knowledge to modify exercises appropriately ensure your virtual sessions are not limited by your environment or home set up.
Propel Physiotherapy uses online exercise platforms and programs that help you keep on track, and let your physiotherapist monitor your performance and participation.
Physical Activity & Health Education
Virtual consultations are also appropriate for people looking for additional physical activity tips, guidelines, and education. Our therapists have experience analyzing movement (e.g., correcting gait and posture imbalances, coaching someone through appropriate exercise form and positioning), monitoring and guiding a person’s daily exercise routine, and even addressing ergonomics and workstation efficiencies.
