Selina aims to work with her clients in breaking down barriers for participating in meaningful life activities. Whether that is rebuilding routine into your day; regaining hand and arm function; or returning to work, school, and/or play, Selina is passionate about building a client-centered treatment plan that works toward your personalized goals.
Selina has a diverse background in occupational therapy from hospital to community involving a broad range of diagnoses and ages. She has experience with neurological rehabilitation, cognitive rehabilitation, mental health and wellbeing approaches, ergonomics, and developmental rehabilitation for pediatric clients from infancy to adolescence. She is passionate about upper extremity rehabilitation and enjoys creative problem solving to get you going where you need to go.
Selina Huang is a registered occupational therapist in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO) and holds membership with the Ontario Society of Occupational Therapists (OSOT) and the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT). She holds degrees from McMaster University and Queen’s University for BSc. Kinesiology and MSc. Occupational Therapy, respectively.
Selina has also completed additional training in neurorehabilitation in the context of upper extremity and cognitive rehabilitation; mental health training with CBT-related skills and motivational interviewing skills; concussions management; as well as chronic disease and chronic pain management.

Decreased or affected hand function post stroke is a common issue – some more severe than others. Some people can present with high tone in certain muscle groups (in this case, wrist flexors, and finger extensors) to a point where it holds the hand in a really uncomfortable position.
