About Propel Physiotherapy
Established in 2016, Propel Physiotherapy is one of the Greater Toronto Area’s leading treatment centre for catastrophic neurological injuries and complex orthopedic injuries. With more than 40 staff, Propel Physiotherapy offers a wide range of healthcare services, including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, chiropractic care, registered massage therapy, mindfulness services from three clinic locations in Etobicoke, Pickering and Peterborough, as well as in the community (mobile) and virtually.
The Role
We are looking for a Occupational Therapy/Physiotherapy Assistant (OTA/PTA) with an interest in neurological and orthopedic conditions and a set of dynamic skills for a dynamic caseload.
Propel Physiotherapy is recruiting for a Occupational Therapy/Physiotherapy Assistant (OTA/PTA) to join our high-performing and fast-growing team of practitioners in our Etobicoke clinic. We are looking for a team player who can demonstrate creativity and consistency with care, professionalism and excellent communication skills to a busy caseload of varied neurological and orthopedic injuries.
This role requires a seamless integration and communication with physiotherapy and occupational therapy services into our dynamic collaborative practice environment that includes massage therapists, occupational therapists, kinesiologists, exercise physiologists, and other physiotherapists. The ideal candidate has top notch skills, a drive to improve and a solid work ethic.
This is an independent contractor position seeking 3 – 5 day commitment, across Monday to Saturday, starting half-days and building to full days as volume grows. Expansion of hours is available and encouraged as your practice grows. The specific schedule/hours will be determined and has some flexibility. The role reports to the Etobicoke Clinic Manager and Managing Director.
This position is available immediately and offers competitive compensation and room for growth.
The Candidate
The candidate must demonstrate exceptional clinical care practices, superior professionalism, and a firm desire to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary entrepreneurial environment:
- OTA/PTA from accredited program
- 2 + years of relevant work experience in orthopedic or neurological physiotherapy or evidence of an education plan to focus in this area.
- Experience in a private setting an asset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A skilled listener who creates meaningful connections with clients and colleagues
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to a challenging environment
- Possess a diverse skillset and willingness to share and learn
- Thinks outside the box; good judgment and problem-solving skills
The Work Environment

We provide structured mentorship to new and junior therapists, including mentorship meetings with management staff —experienced in neuro (Bobath/NDT), vestibular, pelvic health, acupuncture, manual therapy, exercise, advanced technology — with the goal of providing the best care possible to all of our clients.
Our 4,500-square-foot Etobicoke clinic space is fully accessible with wide hallways, push-button doorways and adaptive equipment, including mechanical lifts, NDT/Bobath treatment tables, body-weight supported harness for treadmill, Keeogo assistive walking device, Nu-Step, Arm-ergometer, and Motomed.

OUR CLINIC
Our clinic space is specially designed with the needs of our clientele in mind. The 4,500-square-foot space promotes an open concept with the option to have a private treatment room. Our clinical setting has wide hallways, push-button doorways, and is a fully accessible, level-floored ground unit. Parking and drop off is convenient for drivers and passengers alike. We also have a beautiful, bright kitchen lounge where clients and their family can sit and relax and enjoy a hot or cold beverage while they wait for their loved one.
