1 Eva Rd. (just off the Eva. Rd exit from Hwy. 427)

  • Private contractor position
  • Part-time, approximately 25 hours per week to start with potential for full time hours
  • Competitive hourly fee for service rate ($60-65/hr), commensurate with experience
  • Autonomy and opportunities for growth and development

Making a difference for people who live with chronic pain, neurological issues, and complex orthopaedic injuries requires more than the same old treatments, in the same old clinic, day in and day out.

We believe that if you really want to help people live a life transformed, more meaningful, and pain-free, you need to provide a whole therapeutic experience: from a comfortable atmosphere, to customized and integrated treatment plans, everything needs to stay client-focused.

If that sounds like your kind of clinic, then you should come work with us!

We’re Propel Physiotherapy, an open-concept multi-disciplinary clinic that offers unparalleled comfort and quality services. We’ve got a range of professionals—everyone from RMTS, to PTS, to Kinesiologists and yoga therapists —we treat every client as an individual with specific needs and challenges. We specialize in complex orthopaedic and neurological injuries and take pride in offering a continuum of treatment options that few other clinics can match.

Due to recent growth, we’re looking for a new Registered Massage Therapist to help even more people feel, work, and live better.

Registered Massage Therapist

In this role, you’ll be joining a diverse team of professionals to provide full-service care to our clients. You’ll get referrals from other professionals and will be responsible for conducting assessments and determining a custom, appropriate treatment plan.

We specialize in major injury rehab, which is why we’ve brought together a range of professionals from different fields. You’ll be doing more than working in your room with clients one-on-one; you’ll be communicating and collaborating with others to provide the best possible care.  In addition, you will be integral to the team dynamic that we value so much at Propel Physiotherapy.

Practically speaking, you will:

  • Assess scope of client needs, communicating and referring with other team members as necessary to provide an appropriate course of treatment
  • Provide massage therapy treatments to clients, typically during 45 minute or 1 hour sessions
  • Maintain a professional workspace by ensuring rooms are cleaned and prepared after each client
  • Bring in your skillset, massage therapy techniques, modalities, and strengths to improve client care (e.g., Cupping, acupuncture, hot stone, athletic taping)
  • Participate in education sessions and collaborate with team members
  • Carry out duties pertaining to the College of Massage Therapists
  • Review insurance/client paperwork for consistency and report any anomalies to the administrative team

Because of our emphasis on client-centered treatments, you’ll need to be a critical thinker who can provide traditional massage therapy techniques and apply them creatively and effectively. Different clients need different things; you’ll need to be able to move beyond easy solutions and develop a course of action that is suitable for your client. Though you’ll have autonomy, you’ll also have support when you need it, and mentorship opportunities.

This isn’t your average health clinic. Propel Physiotherapy is a place to grow as a clinician and to create professional relationships with your coworkers and long lasting connections with your clients. If you’re ready to provide massage therapy services and are ready for a challenge, this is definitely the place for you.

Working with Propel Physiotherapy

This is a private contract position, with part-time hours to start and flexible scheduling according to your availability. You’ll start with around 25 hours per week, with potential for full time hours after a probationary period. Because you’re a private contractor and will earn fee for service, you’ll make $50-60 per hour. After probation, contracts are typically 12 months long with opportunities for renewal. You’ll have opportunities for professional development, and massage supplies will be available to you.

Our clinic is large, open and spacious, with both private and open treatment stations. We also have mobile options to make it easier for our clients to get the treatment they need, so you may need some flexibility to do this.

Our focus is on collaboration, not competition. Teamwork and mentorship are at the heart of our culture, which means you’ll have opportunities to learn, advance, and make great working relationships that will last.

We are considering experienced or junior RMT’s as well as recent graduates with their RMT designation. Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • Experience with or knowledge of assessing clients and developing treatment plans
  • Experience working in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
  • Registered as a Massage Therapist, and a member of and in good standing with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario
  • Experience in a customer/client-facing role
  • Independent/private insurance as a practicing RMT, or willingness to obtain this
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in health sciences, kinesiology, massage therapy, physical therapy, or similar
  • Professional experience in massage therapy would be an asset but is not required
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle would be an asset

This part-time position is to start as soon as possible.

Interested candidates should forward a cover letter and resume.
